The Manchester United home kit for 2026/27 is out - and everyone's saying the same thing

The Manchester United home kit 2026/27 has dropped ahead of the end of the season.

Such is the way these days: Manchester United are set to wear their brand-new Adidas top before the season has ended, just to confuse you when you're watching Premier League Years in a decade or so.

Or… will you be confused…?

Let's just get the important things out of the way first: this is an absolutely stunning football shirt, and Adidas have knocked it out of the park.

It's everything you want from a Red Devils get-up: the tone of red is just right warmth, while the black and white piping is absolutely timeless. You could release this every year and we would absolutely lap it up.

And for some online, therein lies the problem: it feels like we've seen this shirt every season since the pandemic.

No, we're not asking for the German manufacturer to change the colour or do anything revolutionary, but arguably, the most notable things about this shirt are the introduction of a collar, and the fact that Adidas's iconic Three Stripes have got bigger.

“Inspired by the 1970s, a clean red base allows the iconic polo collar and striped cuffs to take centre stage, bringing a refined and unmistakably United look back to the pitch,” Adi tells us.

“The collar execution, combined with subtle striping details, references the kits worn during the club’s Domestic Cup triumph in 1977 - marking the 50th anniversary of that historic moment. This connection to the past is balanced with a contemporary construction, creating a jersey that feels both nostalgic and progressive.

“White accents across the Adidas three stripes and branding provide a sharp contrast against the red base, while black detailing is integrated subtly throughout the design, reinforcing the club’s classic colour palette.”

Still, even though there's nothing particularly worth getting excited about with this one, it's going to be a big seller.

United are back in the Champions League and it'll be their first outing in the league phase: call us traditionalists at FourFourTwo, but this shirt simply feels right for nights under the lights and we're glad that Adidas haven't gone too wild with the design.
