The little-known Emmerdale actress married to a Coronation Street star

If the face of Isobel Middleton is familiar it might be because you've seen her in Emmerdale.

Isobel has appeared as three characters in Emmerdale: Jean Rawson in 2020; an unnamed prosecution barrister during Simon McManus' trial in 2018; and Dr Lane in 2014. The actor, who appeared as Sadie Bank in Eastenders in 2002, is married to another familiar face.

In 2015, she tied the knot with Jane Hazelgrove who plays Coronation Street loudmouth Bernie Winter. Jane joked on Lorraine in 2019 that the two, who have been an item for 27 years, were still together because they had never worked together on screen.

Isobel's TV CV is extensive with parts on the 1990s ITV detective thriller Cracker, the Ruth Rendle Mysteries and The Bill. One of her latest roles is on the Channel 5 drama Compulsion as Dr Wilhemina Medlock.

Jane, who arrived on Coronation Street as Bernie in 2019, said about her wife: "She’s sensational, a really beautiful woman. I am very blessed."
