Between one candidate’s truck crashing into a voting centre and Opposition leader Peter Dutton‘s campaign bus getting bogged in Sydney’s CBD, the Liberal Party have been facing some bad juju with their vehicles. And let’s just say, election day was truly no different.
In a video posted to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, a Liberal party truck can be seen driving off with the back doors swinging wide open. Per news.com.au, the truck was carrying the branding of Liberal candidate Rattan Virk — coincidentally, the same candidate whose truck crashed into a community centre on the eve of pre-polling just weeks ago. Yikes.
In the video now making the rounds on social media, someone can be seen chasing after the open-door truck. But it doesn’t seem to stop, at least by the end of the short clip.
The person then stops, watching helplessly with their hand on their head, as it just keeps going.
“The Libs are having no luck with their trucks,” the caption reads.
Seriously, you can’t make this stuff up.
“Back on track. Yeah right,” one user joked while another simply posted: “#metaphor.”
“And they want us to believe they can drive the country?!?!?!” another person commented.
Just weeks earlier, another truck carrying the branding of Liberal candidate Virk crashed into a voting centre in the beautiful western Sydney ‘burb of Quakers Hill, leaving the centre unable to open on the first day of pre-polling.
Video from the scene later showed a man ripping off the Liberal signage on the truck (for obvious reasons).

At the time, a spokesperson for the NSW Liberal Party apologised for the incident.
“Yesterday, a truck delivering materials to Quakers Hill Community Hall dislodged a portico. We sincerely regret any inconvenience this has caused for the local community,” they said, per The Age.
There’s no word (yet!) on this one but ooo boy, it’s one hell of a final omen on election day.
