The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake "all but confirmed," fans conclude following Switch 2 Star Fox announcement

The Legend of Zelda fans are now more certain the rumors of an Ocarina of Time remake are true following the surprise reveal of Star Fox.

Earlier this year, Nintendo leaker Nate The Hate leaked a ton of alleged information about upcoming Nintendo games, and headlining the pack was word that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will apparently be getting a remake on Switch 2 which will release later this year. Other claims included that Rhythm Heaven Groove and Splatoon Raiders would both release later this summer, both of which turned out to be true. The other big one was that a new Star Fox game would also be released this summer, and while the announcement missed the rumored April window, Nintendo dropped a Direct for Star Fox last night out of nowhere, revealing a Star Fox 64 remake for Switch 2.

Over on Reddit, fans are preemptively celebrating, as one post reads: "The Starfox 64 Remake being real pretty much confirms the existence of the Ocarina of Time Remake." Meanwhile, another says: "Remake is all but confirmed." With that said, some are remaining on the side of caution, adding that "it's certainly way more believable now."

Others, however, are more focused on what the rumored remake would actually be like, with one user saying "I am pretty interested how Zelda will look" after the reveal of Star Fox's more realistic art style change made for a drastic overhaul of the series' signature look.

Of course, with leaks, the best thing to do is not believe them until the evidence in front of you. Even with Nate The Hate's extremely solid track record over the last year or so, things can still be wrong – which he admitted with the April announcement for Star Fox – plus, plans can change. Just think back to how many leaks there have been over the years about Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD making their way to Switch, and don't get yourself too invested for now, even if it seems very likely.

Also, in what is more of an interesting tidbit about this than an actual piece of evidence, the timing of a Star Fox 64 remake and a Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake arriving in the same year would be funny, given that's exactly what happened last time both games were remade in 2011 for the 3DS.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time fans share hopes for its rumored remake – not just "prettier graphics," Nintendo, just "swing for the fences" but don't make "Ocarina of the Wild."
