Selena Gomez might want to start issuing NDAs with her party invites because the internet basically already knows when and where she’s getting married to Benny Blanco. And yep, it looks like the big day is happening this weekend.
The whispers about a September wedding have been floating around since at least July, when Daily Mail reported that Selena and Benny were planning a two-day event in Montecito, California, with guests told to bring overnight bags for the full weekend experience. Then TMZ doubled down earlier this month claiming the couple would tie the knot at the end of September at a private residence, instead of a hotel, so security could be even tighter (thank God — the leaks clearly aren’t helping).
And now The Sun has upped the ante, reporting that September 27 is the date, with the ceremony set for a private estate in Santa Barbara. Guests are apparently being kept in the dark about the actual venue, with everyone to be collected and driven there blindly like it’s the world’s fanciest surprise party. The couple has allegedly booked out the luxe El Encanto hotel for their nearest and dearest to stay in while they party.

“I’m very lucky. It’s going well. I’m so excited,” Selena said on The Tonight Show earlier this month when quizzed about her wedding planning.
Her Only Murders In The Building co-star, Steve Martin, quipped, “I’m sure our invites will arrive any day now,” to which Selena immediately replied, “Of course they are. Marty’s [Martin Short] the ring bearer”.
Opening up to Allure, Selena candidly admitted, “definitely”, when asked if she was grateful her relationship with Benny happened now and not years ago.
“I don’t think I would have been remotely mature enough,” she said.
“It’s weird to think that only five years ago I wouldn’t have been in the right place… I’ve learned so many lessons [since then] that led me to being the best partner I could be for Benny. And I believe the same with him”.

During a March Rolling Stone interview, Selena called her engagement “such a special time”, adding, “I genuinely feel like this is such a special time that we get to apply it to this album and really just pour our heart into it, and completely translate what we feel and bring it to the world. That’s my main focus right now, at least”.
And as for how the plans are shaping up, Selena confessed to Allure, “I have all my folders of inspiration for the wedding, for cooking, for style.”
She played coy on the details though: “We’re not sure what route we’re going to take.”
But, we do know two things for certain. Selena said in TikTok for Rare Beauty: “Whenever that day comes, I do know I don’t want a big cake” and “My nana’s biscuit and gravy. That sounds like dessert to me”.
Who is on Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s wedding guest list?
While there has been no official guest list published by the couple’s representatives, several high-profile names have been widely reported as expected attendees.
Paris Hilton’s invite is considered very solid after her sister Nicky revealed it in a televised Access Hollywood interview with a very public “yes” when directly asked about Paris attending the nuptials.
No news yet on whether Taylor Swift will be there a week ahead of her album release, but I’m sure Selena’s bestie wouldn’t miss it.
Insiders also suggest Ed Sheeran is likely to be there, and of course Selena’s Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short are expected to attend.
A source told The Sun, “All the guests will be picked up and driven to the location without knowing their destination ahead of time. Everyone is so excited despite the mystery, they know it will be an amazing time.”
Security is being amped up
With all the leaks, security is being ramped up. Another insider told Daily Mail the pair “don’t want to delay the wedding and find a new location… instead, they’re doubling up on security to make the event as private as possible”. It’s even being considered that guests might not be allowed phones, just to keep things extra hush.
So, is Selena Gomez walking down the aisle with Benny Blanco this weekend? Every leak, report and hint says yes. And judging by the amount of A-listers flying into California, we’re about to witness one of Hollywood’s biggest weddings of the year — even if it has to happen under lock and key.
