The latest coronavirus cases confirmed in Leeds as city's total nears 4,100

A further 40 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Leeds over the past two days, bringing the city's total to 4,068.

Across the county a further 345 cases have been confirmed which means that almost 33,000 people have now contracted the virus in Yorkshire.

The latest figures published by Public Health England are thought to be from the past 48 hours, rather than the usual 24 because no figures were released yesterday due to "technical difficulties".

While testing has been ramped up in parts of West Yorkshire currently facing extra restrictions, infection rates have also been increasing.

Because of that, the government announced this week that stricter measures will remain in place in Kirklees, Bradford and Calderdale for at least another week.

The lowest number of new cases were reported in York, Hull and Doncaster, with three, three and five new cases respectively.

However, on an interactive map designed by Public Health England, you can view coronavirus cases recorded in specific areas from August 4 to 10.

This map is refreshed each Thursday with data from the previous week.
