The Jaguars’ mascot mocked Sam Darnold’s ‘seeing ghosts’ comment

The Jets had to know it was coming.

On Monday night, ESPN’s Monday Night Football aired an overwhelmed Sam Darnold admitting on the sidelines that the Patriots defense had him “seeing ghosts.” It was one of those mic’d up moments that you rarely see the NFL approve for airing, but it happened.

And everyone made fun of Sam Darnold for it.

Come Sunday’s game at Jacksonville, the Jaguars and their fans had plenty of ghost-themed material aimed at mocking Darnold. That included having the mascot, Jaxson De Ville, getting propelled onto the field in a ghost costume. They really went all out to keep this joke going.

Hey, given that it’s just four days ahead of Halloween, Darnold made a seasonally appropriate comment. You can’t blame the fans for looking like this:

The ghost taunting may have worked too because Darnold once again struggled.
