MAGA may be losing one blonde woman, Marjorie Taylor Greene, but according to Donald Trump, they’ve gained another: Sydney Sweeney.
Sweeney’s been a topic of controversy since her American Eagle jeans ads appeared, which some critics say have racist overtones. News has also emerged that Sweeney is a registered Republican in Florida.
In his post, which Trump, 79, shared amid the controversy and then deleted and reposted likely because he spelled Sweeney’s first name wrong, the president said, “Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying off the shelves.’ Go get ‘em Sydney!”
Trump went on to criticize Jaguar’s “stupid, and seriously WOKE advertisement, THAT IS A TOTAL DISASTER!” Jaguar’s CEO has resigned, as Trump’s post says, but not just because of the ad, as Trump suggests.
Trump went on, “Shouldn’t they have learned a lesson from Bud Lite, which went Woke and essentially destroyed, in a short campaign, the Company. The market cap destruction has been unprecedented, with BILLIONS OF DOLLARS SO FOOLISHLY LOST.”
He then took shots at Taylor Swift, seriously misrepresenting the state of her career. “Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can’t stand her (HATE!). She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became, NO LONGER HOT. The tide has seriously turned — Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
“I think her ad is fantastic”
Trump says Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle ad is “fantastic” after learning she’s a registered Republican.

Meanwhile, Trump’s post came just one day after CNN informed Trump that Sweeney is a registered Republican. “Oh, now I love her ad…If she is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic,” Trump said.
According to reports, Sweeney, 27, is a registered Republican. However, she never commented on politics, nor has she endorsed Trump or commented on the American Eagle controversy. However, MAGA-inclinations have been linked to the star for a few years.
In 2022, Sweeney held a family birthday party for her mother, where guests were photographed wearing red hats that read “Make Sixty Great Again.” The slogan, clearly modeled after Trump’s “Make America Great Again,” led to speculation about Sweeney’s politics. Sweeney quickly responded on social media, calling the backlash “absurd” and insisting that the party was a lighthearted, non-political celebration.
