The 'good problem' that Jadon Sancho would bring to Manchester United

Rio Ferdinand has outlined what Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho would bring to Manchester United.

The England international continues to be linked with a big-money move to Old Trafford, after lighting up the Bundesliga for the past two seasons.

United have reportedly been quoted an asking price of £108m for the 20-year-old, but it has been claimed that the player is keen to sign for the Reds.

Club legend Ferdinand has been speaking about the impact that Sancho would have at United were he to arrive before next month’s transfer deadline.

Ferdinand reckons that Sancho would present a “good problem” for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and allow United’s other forward options to flourish.

“I think you have to look at it and think to yourself, Jadon Sancho is someone who adds a lot of goals, a lot of assists and creativity,” said Ferdinand, speaking on BBC 5Live.

“He draws players out of position.

“You need two or three players to come deal with him, which allows other people like Rashford, Greenwood and Martial more space.

“And what that means in terms of goals and opportunities, who knows?

“I think he brings you good problems for the manager.”
