The deadline to apply for primary school spaces is approaching
Parents sending their child to reception class in Gateshead in September 2023 should apply by Sunday January 15, 2023.
Gateshead Council says to check admission policies for the schools you want to apply for and suggests picking three schools.
"We recommend you apply to three schools - applying for only one school does not improve your chance of being offered a place at the school," says the council.

Many parents will be hoping to send their children to a school rated Outstanding by Ofsted.
