The Liverpool Echo has taken a closer look at the characteristics of all the past winners from the Aintree race.
We found that the average age of the winning horse was nine years old, was carrying a handicap weight of 10st 7lbs and had odds of either 10/1 or 25/1.
They also tend not to be the favourite either. Only nine of the races held since the Second World War have been won by the favourite or joint favourite.
There are 13 horses that fit this criteria in this year's Grand National.
