The former Arsenal man who could hold the key to Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea future

AC Milan are reportedly pushing hard to appoint Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri as their new manager, with the latest reports claiming that club chief Ivan Gazidis is in London to hold talks with the Italian.

Sarri's future at Chelsea looks uncertain, as does Milan's Gennaro Gattuso, and it now seems that the Serie A club is making a move for the Blues boss.

According to Sport Mediaset , former Arsenal chief Gazidis has arranged to have talks with Sarri in order to try and convince the manager to take up the reigns at Milan. The club are reportedly willing to offer £2.6million in wages if he does agree to take the role.

The report also claims that Sarri will be leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the campaign, whatever the outcome of the Europa League final against Arsenal on May 29th. The Blues are reportedly targeting Watford boss Javi Garcia and former player Frank Lampard to replace Sarri.

Tensions between the manager and Chelsea chief Roman Abramovich reaching boiling point, the breaking point being Ruben Loftus-Cheek's injury picked up in a post season friendly against New England Revolution earlier this week.

The England midfielder had an archilles tendon injury operated on on Thursday Evening, ruling him out of the Europa League final.

Gazdis saw the recruitment process that saw Unai Emery join Arsenal in the summer, before leaving the club to join AC Milan.
