Unlike the other six Pickaxes, which can be purchased directly from Fred the Miner in his shop on the Frostpire Expanse map, this Pickaxe is tucked away from beaten paths, and you'll need to find its location. Luckily for you, we've managed to find its hiding spot, and I'll now share with you where to find it, step by step.
- Start by heading to Bjorn’s location, the NPC quest-giver.
- Walk past his house and follow the path on the left side of the building.
- Continue down the path until you reach a frozen lake, where you’ll notice a circular hole in the ice.
- Jump in and swim all the way to the bottom.
- There, you’ll find a massive whale (or possibly a large fish?) frozen inside crystal-clear, translucent ice.
- Deep within that ice lies The Forge’s Prismatic Pickaxe.

How to Get the Prismatic Pickaxe
Finding the secret Pickaxe is only the first step - actually adding it to your toolset is a far greater challenge. As I mentioned earlier, the Pickaxe is encased in multiple layers of thick ice, meaning you’ll need to put in some serious work before you can reach it. Specifically, you’ll need to start mining the ice itself. Only a handful of pickaxes are powerful enough for the task, as you’ll need one that deals at least 320 base damage to break through.

This means you’ll need to invest in one of the new The Forge Winter Update pickaxes. The most affordable option is the Snow Pickaxe, which costs $750,000 and is the first pickaxe capable of dealing 320 base damage. If you're looking to speed up the process, you can opt for more expensive (and more powerful) alternatives like the Frost Pickaxe ($1,000,000) or the Void Pickaxe ($1,350,000). While these options come at a higher cost, they significantly reduce the time needed to break through the ice.
