Five Arsenal games Gabriel Martinelli could miss as Gunners face big loss after Christmas

Gabriel Martinelli's international call-up is good news for everyone except Arsenal.

The Brazilian has been called up for the CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament that takes place in January and February of 2020.

Martinelli has been a breath of fresh air so far this term for the Gunners, and it seems that his call could spell trouble for Unai Emery's side.

The 18-year-old could potentially miss five Arsenal fixtures if Brazil go the distance in the competition which takes place in Colombia.

The North London side face a hectic few weeks as they take on Sheffield United at home on January 18, before facing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge three days later.

Should Arsenal progress in the FA Cup third round, they'll play their fourth round fixture on January 25th - a game which could be earmarked as a perfect game for the Brazilian starlet.

The competition comes to a close on February 9 which means that Martinelli could also miss the trip to face Burnley at Turf Moor and the home clash against Newcastle United on February 8.

While Martinelli hasn't been a first team regular this term his absence is sure to be a blow to Unai Emery who will need the depth of his squad to cope with a particularly demanding period of the season.

The games Gabriel Martinelli could miss

Arsenal vs Sheffield United - January 18

Chelsea vs Arsenal - January 21

FA Cup Fifth Round - January 25

Burnley vs Arsenal February 1

Arsenal vs Newcastle February 8
