Friends, foes and fans of the alphabet gather round and lend me your attention for a spell, because the hit SBS spelling show Letters & Numbers is returning to our tellies in October and we finally have a trailer. Do you know what this spells out? Excitement. Capital E.
Yep, we finally have our first glimpse at the brand new Celebrity Letters & Numbers coming to SBS, with confirmation that dictionary whiz David Astle and mathematician Lily Serna, who starred in the original show from 2010-2012, will be returning! This is huge!
As we know, original host Richard Morecroft will be replaced by the hilarious Michael Hing, which has me fkn KEEN. I still remember Hing giving a guest lecture in my journalism class years ago, so to thank him for inspiring me to go down this career path, you better believe I’m going to be tuning into this show.
Also, I guess I’m helping him out by promoting his new role, since he hates Twitter (understandable) and doesn’t want to write too much about it. Returning the favour, king!

In case you weren’t aware, the classic SBS show is basically all about spelling words from a random selection of letters and cracking some pretty mind-boggling equations with a random set of numbers.
This time around, however, Letters & Numbers looks to be focusing on celebrity guests rather than a bunch of Aussie randoms, which looks like a very fun choice.

I’m just so glad Lily Serna is returning because she is indisputably a legend, despite only being on the telly for two years. To see her return will create harmony across Australia as there has never been before.
