If you’re living in long johns, faux-fur, ski boots or something similarly designed to keep you warm, then shopping for spring clothing might seem a nonsense. But if, in spite of this, you’re gagging for a splash of retail therapy, this Bex Rox bracelet could be right up your alley. It has a modern take on chunky chain jewellery, but is classic enough to last beyond a season; it’s got a marvellous magnetic fastening device, and it’ll sex up any old long johns.

You know what you’re getting from labels such as Gant – classic Americana with a Euro splash. Fine – but not exactly groundbreaking. This spring, though, its men’s Rugger range (ignore the terrible name) has some pleasant surprises, like this cable-knit jumper, ideal with faded jeans. For yellow-phobics, an army green parka or a red anorak with on-trend utility pockets might be more the ticket. A new Gant “concept” store on London’s Regent Street opens next week too.
