The exact time Boris Johnson will make his England Covid lockdown announcement and what we can expect

The Prime Minister will address the nation tomorrow to reveal the government's lockdown exit plan for England.

It is expected that Boris Johnson will unveil a three-stage exit plan, where he will talk about how nation's Covid-19 lockdown restrictions will be eased in the next few months.

The government already announced some weeks ago that all schools will reopen on March 8, and yesterday it was also revealed that care home residents will be able to hold hands with a regular visitor from March 8 also.

Tomorrow's official announcement will take place in the House of Commons at 3.30pm, The Mirror reports.

The Prime Minister will then speak to the nation in a televised address at 7pm, The Sunday Times reports.

Newspapers have reported that his plan could allow outdoor leisure activities, such as golf and tennis, and even picnics to resume in March.

Outdoor meet-ups between two separate households could happen by Easter as a first step toward relaxing gathering rules, according to The Sun and The Telegraph.

Hairdressers may have to wait until the end of April to reopen, the newspapers report.

Downing Street is apparently planning on allowing non-essential shops to open their doors again in April, The Times reports.

It comes after Mr Johnson pledged that every adult in the UK will be invited to have the jab by July 31 - two months ahead of schedule.

It raises hopes that the worst of lockdown could soon be over and the country can, finally, get back to some kind of normal.

Mr Johnson said: “I want to see the rollout go further and faster in the coming weeks.

“We will now aim to offer a jab to every adult by the end of July, helping us protect the most vulnerable sooner, and take further steps to ease some of the restrictions in place.”
