Ever fancied soaring like an eagle over one of Scotland's most beautiful beaches?
Well, this summer you could be in for a treat with a trip to a true hidden gem in the Highlands. The ideal way to entertain adventurous kids this summer, the Golden Eagle Zip Line in Durness sees you flying at speeds of up to 45mph over the pristine white sands of Ceannabeinne Beach, Durness.
The most Northerly zip line in Western Europe, the ride sees you taking off from a 38 meters high cliff top and soaring like the magnificent Scottish bird of prey that gives the line its name.
Found on the now famous North Coast 500 route, Durness lies on the very northwestern tip of Scotland looking out over the Atlantic Ocean.
Though its 227 metre is not the longest line in the UK, its location and high speed make it one of the most thrilling.
And most of the reviewers agree, with the majority of people on TripAdvisor rating it as a five-star experience.
Usually opening from 10.30am-5pm – weather dependent – each ride costs £15 per person, with all safety equipment, harnesses and helmets provided. Child friendly, they have harnesses available for kids too.
There is no booking required, you can just turn up and enjoy the ride.
Be warned though, the zipline can be dependent on the weather so make sure to keep an eye on their social media for days where there's a chance of high winds.
