Lots of Emmerdale stars have spoken about how uncertain their futures can feel. Even established stars are often worried about their job security.
James Hooton, who has played Sam Dingle since 1995, has spoken of how ‘gutted’ he’d be to have his character killed off.
“Being killed off is always a concern for long-standing soap actors,” James said, as reported by What To Watch.
“We’re on 12 month contracts at a time. I’d be gutted if I wasn’t on it any more. I’ve had a real renaissance.
“This is one of the best jobs in the world. I get a lot of time off with my family. The environment on Emmerdale is better than a film set.”
While, Danny Miller, who plays viewer fave Aaron Dingle, has revealed how the arrival of a new boss can cause changes amongst the cast.

Talking to TalkSport, after producer Iain MacLeod took over from Kate Oates, Danny said: "It's a bit like football – when the new producers come in and have their own ideas of how they want to play and have their idea of who are the star players.
"Although your previous boss has said, 'you’re part of the plans', the new boss could come in and say, 'you’re not my kind of actor, you’re out of here’."
He continued: "Everybody panics because you don’t know what they want to do and if you have had loads of storylines you fear they might not want to use you as such, and it’s always interesting to see what they bring to the show. But I think it's healthy to worry about it."
We think Danny doesn’t have much to worry about although we’ve previously reported even the village’s Paddy Dingle fears the axe.
Dominic Brunt, who plays Paddy Dingle, arguably one of the show’s best-loved characters, has been in the soap for 24 years.
The actor says each winter he always gets a little anxious it might be his last in the fictional village. Although, we don't think he has anything to worry about.
“Every Christmas when the contract is up, I still think that’s probably it,” Dominic told our colleagues at The Mirror.
“I think that keeps me going, the thought that at any point you could be out. You can’t just wing it, turn up with no ideas.
“So I try hard – but never in my wildest dreams did I think I would have a job this good for so long.”
While, Katherine Dow Blyton, who plays vicar Harriet Finch, has previously discussed the threat of feeling your days are numbered.
As always, we’ll keep you posted on which characters might be exiting Emmerdale.
