The Dublin restaurants that attracted major celebrities in 2022

Dublin is no stranger to visits from A-list celebrities and 2022 was no exception.

With the return of concerts and live gigs this summer, many celebrities were spotted out and about in Dublin, squeezing in some downtime between their performances. Harry Styles even managed some one-on-one time with his then girlfriend Olivia Wilde in a top Dublin restaurant, along with a dip in the sea.

Here are the Dublin restaurants visited by major celebrities in 2022 - you may want to book yourself a table and try the food for yourself.

Sarah Jessica Parker - SOUP 2

Sarah Jessica Parker and her partner Matthew Broderick, visited SOUP 2 in Smithfield with their children in August. The 'Sex and the City' star was very well received by owner Conor Hughes, who was quite busy on the day, when Sarah jokingly offered to. help out in the kitchen.

He said the couple were very polite and more than happy to chat to any fan. Of course, the family is no stranger to Ireland as they often spend a lot of time in their holiday home in Donegal.

The couple's Kilcar cottage has been in Matthew's family for over 40 years. There is even a GAA tournament in Matthew's name - the Broderick Cup tournament - an underage GAA tournament which was created in memory of Matthew's parents who also often holidayed in Donegal.

Ed Sheeran - Rasam

In April, pop sensation Ed Sheeran was spotted in Indian restaurant Rasam in Glasthule with his pal Zack as he was taking him out for a curry for his 30th birthday.

The singer had just come off the back of performing at Vicar St. before heading to his big gig at Croke Park. He was later seen that evening pulling a few Guinness's and enjoying his night out in Dublin.

Rasam is a big celebrity spot. A few weeks ago they hosted Hollywood star Jane Seymour and her famous actor friend Patrick Bergin for dinner. Rosanna Davison, Miriam O'Callaghan and lots of other stars frequently enjoy their dinner at the Indian restaurant.

Seth Myers - Fade Street Social

Comedian Seth Myers was in popular city centre restaurant Fade Street Social this August before heading to the college American Football game in the Aviva Stadium with his family. It was the first time that the Northwestern Wildcats and Nebraska Cornhuskers were playing in Ireland.

He was a good customer and general manager Joseph McColgan told Dublin Live: "He's a very cool, chilled guy." The staff also agreed that he was very polite and a pleasure to have.

Florence Pugh - Delahunt

In October English Hollywood actress Florence Pugh was on the red carpet at The Lighthouse cinema in Smithfield for the premiere of her movie 'The Wonder'.

Here she revealed that her favourite Dublin restaurant was contemporary Irish restaurant bar Delahunt located on Camden Street. She revealed that she went there for a few meals and as they kept changing the menu, so she just 'had to go back for more.'

The restaurant which is located inside a beautiful Victorian building, has an evening tasting menu for €70.

Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde - SOLE Seafood & Grill restaurant

Harry Styles and his then girlfriend Olivia Wilde were seen strolling around the streets of Dublin and popping in to SOLE, the seafood and grill restaurant on South William Street. He was in Dublin before gig at the Aviva Stadium, which was on in June.

The couple were photographed in other parts of the city including the Vico Baths and seemed to really enjoy their down time in Dublin. SOLE is one of Dublin's top seafood restaurants., serving lobster, monkfish and oysters.

Liam Gallagher - Hugo's

Former Oasis band member Liam Gallagher was in Dublin for concerts in August and he was seen enjoying himself in popular restaurant Hugo's.

Everyone said he was more than pleasant to all his fans and was willing to stop and talk to everyone. He was just off the back of his concert in Kilmainham, where there were around 20,000 people in attendance.
