The ‘drastic action’ Britons are taking to survive heatwaves

  • The charity highlights that poorly designed homes act as "heat traps", and the high cost of cooling equipment leaves many helpless.
  • Tenants are disproportionately affected, with 51 per cent feeling they lack control over overheating, compared to 40 per cent of homeowners.
  • Citizens Advice is urging the government to address this "year-round crisis" by investing in better insulation, ventilation and heat network upgrades through the Warm Homes Plan.
