The Dog Photographer of the Year competition 2010

Dog photography: Winner
Overall winner and winner of the I Love Dogs category for under-16s

Tilly, an 18-month-old border/lakeland terrier cross.

Winner Jennie Shelton said: 'I was walking Tilly in the field by our home when she ran off. I called her back and lay down in the grass, and when she came into view I started taking lots of images. I take lots of pictures of Tilly - she is probably one of my favourite subjects - but this image stood out from them all.'

Judge Tim Flach said: 'Jennie has presented us with a real sense of the decisive moment; this picture has vitality in colour as well as spirit.'
