Tilly, an 18-month-old border/lakeland terrier cross.
Winner Jennie Shelton said: 'I was walking Tilly in the field by our home when she ran off. I called her back and lay down in the grass, and when she came into view I started taking lots of images. I take lots of pictures of Tilly - she is probably one of my favourite subjects - but this image stood out from them all.'
Judge Tim Flach said: 'Jennie has presented us with a real sense of the decisive moment; this picture has vitality in colour as well as spirit.' Photograph: Jennie Shelton

Winner Juliet Dearbergh said: 'She is an extremely busy puppy, and I took the photo in one of her rare moments of calm when she decided to crash out on my wellington boots as I sat on the grass! I'm so pleased my photo was chosen.' Photograph: Juliet Dearbergh
