The Dion Sanderson domino effect to reignite Rangers interest as Wolves make transfer stance 'clear'

Wolves have reportedly made their transfer stance on previous Rangers target Dion Sanderson 'clear'.

It appears the English Premier League side are gearing up to sell the defender with Championship side Birmingham City leading the charge for the 23-year-old's signature after back-to-back spells St Andrew's. Sanderson has made 30 starts for Blues and has become a fans' favourite after the Light Blues were reportedly interest with claims director of football Ross Wilson and John Park both watched the youngster.

The Englishman's deal runs up at Molineux in 2025 but according to BirminghamLive the Wolves hierarchy are happy to work a permanent move for Sanderson, potentially reigniting Ibrox interest.

There could be hot competition for his signature, however, with Stoke City said to be keen. Michael Beale spoke previously about doing more business in the summer with a focus on increasing options at the back.

Rangers have suffered setbacks with defensive injuries shown by the long spells on the sidelines for Filip Helander and John Souttar. Ben Davies and Conor Goldson have held down the fort but James Sands returned to the MLS.

Youngster Leon King was also thrown in at the deep end under former boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst during an injury crisis at the club but despite his lack of top team action under Beale to date he is highly-regarded by the club with a big future.
