Alright everyone! Gird your loins and ready your most fashionable looks, because The Devil Wears Prada 2 is almost upon us. And in true Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), and Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) fashion, the cast is already serving looks in the lead up to the film’s April 30 release date.
The press tour has officially kicked off yesterday in Mexico City at the Museo Frida Kahlo (Casa Azul), with a Q&A that was followed by a sneak peek screening of the film at Museo Anahuacalli. Afterwards, iconic archival pieces by some of Mexico’s best designers were presented on a runway.
The other cities that’ll see Streep, Hathaway other icons from The Devil Wears Prada 2 cast include Tokyo, Seoul, and Shanghai, before the film’s world premiere in New York City and European premiere in London. They’ve kept it pretty small, only stopping over at the most fashionable cities worthy of Miranda Priestly’s presence, I guess.
While we may not be able to afford any of the archival and designer pieces the cast is rocking, we can look on and admire wistfully — especially since press tours and junkets are really stepping it up in the wardrobe department. We saw it with Wuthering Heights and Challengers, so it’s safe to say we have pretty high hopes for the sequel of one of the most iconic fashion films of the early 2000s.

Cerluean Blue? Groundbreaking.
Hathaway kicked off The Devil Wears Prada 2 promo in a white tracksuit set with a cerulean blue swatch on the back — a tongue-in-cheek nod to the first film. Stylist Ashley Afriyie shared this photo to her Instagram Story with the caption “#CeruleanBlue has entered the chat @annehathaway”, nodding to the scene in the first film wherein Miranda berates Andy for wearing a cerulean blue sweater without knowing the colour’s history.
“That blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs, and it’s sort of comical how you think you’ve made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry,” Priestly says in the film.
People on social media are going wild trying to hunt down the brand responsible for the sweat set. One Instagram commenter said it might be from Colombian brand T. De Totuma, but while there’s similar T-shirts on their site, none match Hathaway’s set.
We managed to find a pretty identical one on Dzeetee, but it’s not confirmed if this is the OG brand behind the design or if they’ve just been super speedy with their dupe.
Mexico City Museo Frida Kahlo (Casa Azul)
Both Hathaway and Streep put on their best power suits for the Mexico City Q&A. Hathaway’s dress is giving very much edgy business up the top and rodeo party down the bottom. Both the dress and her shoes are Schiaparelli, and her sunglasses are Bvlgari.
As for Streep’s bold red ensemble, it’s custom Dolce & Gabbana.
Also, we NEED to take a moment for the clutch.
Name a more iconic clutch, I’ll wait. It’s custom Olympia Le-Tan, so unfortunately, we won’t be able to get our regular person mitts on it.
It’s not a press tour without an outfit change. Hathaway slipped into a Stella McCartney dress and boots, Wolford tights (which might actually be in your price range!) and Bvlgari jewellery.
Streep has been styled in a Schiaparelli belted maxi dress and Sole Bliss shoes.
Mexico City Junket
Hey, so Streep is casually wearing an $8,410 Chanel shirt! Isn’t that so fun?! The fact that it’s mostly white is making me anxious — my clumsy self would get it dirty in an instant.
Hathaway’s purple lace moment layered underneath the black corset top is a $2,000 bodysuit from Valentino, and is still for sale if you’ve fallen in love and are willing to fork out an enormous amount. And her stunning bedazzled shoes are Christian Louboutin.
