After weeks of watching a handful of celebs shimmy, shake and sashay around the dancefloor, the winner of your nan’s favourite show — Dancing With The Stars — has been announced.
Drum roll, please…
It’s Home And Away‘s Kyle Shilling!

In true finale spirit, the evening kicked off with a glorious group performance. Then, the competition began and it was admittedly nail-biting. This particular season’s cast have really grabbed the competition by the (mirror)balls, and it shows.
Alongside Kyle, there was actor Felicity Ward, comedian Shaun Micallef, former AFL star Trent Cotchin, podcaster and media personality Brittany Hockley and news anchor Michael Usher.
After all the talented stars did their boogie-woogie, the audience cast a vote. While it was a close one, it was the Home And Away star and his dance partner, Lily Cornish, who came out on top with 40 points. Shaun and Ash-Leigh Hunter came in second with 37, and Trent and Jess Raffa finished third with 35.
“I’m feeling mixed emotions, as it’s come to an end,” Kyle said as he claimed the coveted mirrorball trophy.
“We built such a strong family here and you can see all the beautiful people behind us. It’s amazing to be able to stand here and hold this trophy, knowing all the hard work we put in has paid off.”
Alongside the trophy, Kyle’s win means that $20,000 is awarded to his chosen charity, The Indigenous Literary Foundation.
The win isn’t a huge surprise for viewers. Kyle consistently slayed on the dance floor, garnering glowing comments from the judges and punters on TikTok.
“Wait, who is the star?” wrote one commenter.
“He’s such a natural!” said another.
“Kyle is such an amazing performer! This win is so deserving for him!” commented another user.
Although Kyle was the well-deserved winner, I have to give a shout-out to Shaun Micallef, whose joy-filled performances often found their way on my TikTok FYP, and I couldn’t help but watch the whole thing. That man is a performer through and through.
