SJ Watson’s first novel, Before I Go To Sleep, was an international bestseller and won The Crime Writers’ Association Award for Best Debut Novel and The Galaxy National Book Award for Crime Thriller of the Year. The film of the book, starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth, was released in September 2014. His second book, the psychological thriller Second Life, is out now. He tweets @SJ_Watson.
Claire Armitstead is books editor for the Guardian and Observer. She presents the weekly Guardian books podcast and is a regular commentator on radio, and at live events across the UK and internationally. Explore her work for the Guardian here.
Lisa Jewell started her first novel, Ralph’s Party, as a bet in 1996. It was published in 1998 and went on to become the bestselling debut novel of that year. Lisa has since written another 12 books, all of which, including her latest, The Girls, have been Sunday Times bestsellers. She lives in London with her husband and children and is currently working on her fourteenth novel. Find out more on her website.
Charlotte Mendelson is an award-winning author whose latest novel, Almost English, was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize 2013 and the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction 2014. Her third novel, When We Were Bad, was shortlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction.
