The Chase viewers 'mind blown' as quizzer has 'never heard of' common phrase

The Chase 's Bradley Walsh was left completely gobsmacked by Sean 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace as he revealed he didn't know what a commonly used term meant - and he wasn't alone.

Viewers were equally as baffled by the admission on the show on Wednesday night.

The latest episode saw Gloucestershire native Lyndon, 45, go up against the Chaser in a bid to win a cash prize.

However it turned out to be a shambles for both Lyndon and Sean as they incorrectly guessed what "discombobulate" meant during the head-to-head round.

The term, which means to disconcert or confuse someone, came up, and Bradley was shocked as the two men revealed they had no idea what it meant.

During the round, Bradley quizzed: "To discombobulate is to do what?"

After a hard think, Lyndon chose his answer and said: "I think I might be going home," as he opted for "eat".

It was then Sean's turn, and he had chosen "dissect", which was also wrong.

He told Bradley: "I've never heard of that phrase."

"Discombobulate? You're a Barrister!" Bradley quipped, as Sean replied: "I know."

Bradley continued: "Alright, well that was lucky," as he egged Lyndon on for his next chance to outdo the Chaser.

The confused pair had the host completely baffled as he couldn't comprehend the fact that they didn't know the term.

Another penned: "I CANNOT believe @ITVthebarrister hasn’t heard of ‘discombobulate’, that’s mind blowing. #TheChase "

A third shared: "Either my knowledge of English is brilliant or Shaun’s and Lyndon’s really isn’t. How can you not know discombobulate ? #TheChase "
