The Chase viewers left baffled by contestant's celebrity resemblance

The Chase viewers were left baffled last night by a contestant's resemblance to a celebrity - or celebrities.

Fans of the popular ITV quiz show hilariously took to social media to try and figure out which famous face contestant Mike looked like the most.

Host of the show Bradley Walsh introduced retired chemistry teacher Mike from Rochdale, 64, who got off to a good start as he bagged £6,000 in the cash builder, the Mirror Online reports.

Mike was compared to many celebrities on Twitter (ITV)

But viewers were left too distracted by Mike's resemblance to certain celebs.

Watch the video above and see who you think Mike's celebrity lookalike is.

Fans compared him to Anton Du Beke's dad and late TV presenter Bruce Forsyth.

He was also referred to as former Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman, and also, bizarrely, comedian Jon Bishop.

Mike was up against the Chaser Anne Hegerty, 61, as he battled against the quizzer to win the cash prize.

Taking to the social media site, viewers exchanged their views on who Mike looked like the most.

One wrote on Twitter: "Didn't know Bruce Forsyth had a brother  #thechase."

Another penned: " #TheChase  Anton du Beke's dad?"

Meanwhile, a third shared: "Why's Len Goodman on The Chase?".

One more fan also quipped: "Mike’s a man of many faces..... #thechase ".

He went head-to-head with Anne and played well for the team, but later got caught by the Chaser with his team Andy and Julia.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
