The Chase star Darragh Ennis shares reason for turning down Strictly

The Chase's Darragh Ennis has shared the one reason why he will never do Strictly Come Dancing.

Since joining the popular ITV quiz show in 2020, The Menace has quickly become a fan favourite. He was chosen as a Chaser after winning an intense round against now co-star Paul Sinha in 2017.

But despite being so popular, Darragh has now explained why he will never do Strictly.

He told the Express : "No not Strictly. Oh no, I can't dance, I can't even clap along, and I have no sense of rhythm whatsoever. I got lessons for my wedding for the first dance and the first thing my mother-in-law said to me after was 'I thought you had lessons', so certainly not dancing.

"But, yeah myself and Jenny recorded a singing show which is going out at Christmas, I am a terrible singer as well but I gave that a go. I don't think I would do any of the big ones though, I am too busy."

Darragh has been part of the show since 2020 and admitted that working on The Chase is like one big family. He said: "I think it is the atmosphere, everybody who works in front and behind the camera, we all are really friendly, happy and there is lots of joking and laughing.

"It is a lovely place to work as well as being a brilliant show. We all laugh, and I bribe people with biscuits and doughnuts to keep everyone happy."

Away from The Chase, Darragh is a lab manager and research technician at the University of Oxford. When he appeared as a contestant back in 2017 he won £9,000 for the team during his cash builder round.
