The Chase's Mark Labbett warning to Liverpool student after cash offer 'mistake'

The Chase's Mark Labbett warned a Liverpool university student she was making a bad choice with her cash offers.

Miranda, 21, a marine biology student was hoping to raise funds for a cage dive with sharks in South Africa.

But during the cash-builder, it appears nerves may have gotten the better of her as she only managed one right answer.

Miranda was caught out by a couple of questions (ITV)

Mark Labbett then offered Miranda the option of getting one step ahead, by taking a lower offer of -£1,000.

Miranda's fellow contestant Lee urged her to take the minus option, but Miranda stuck with her £1,000.

The Beast told Miranda she had made a mistake by not taking the low offer, saying it would have been much better for her to be in the final, even if there was a reduced prize pot.

Many viewers also agreed, taking to Twitter.

Dave said: "When will people learn a 'low' minus offer is often the best move especially if you have had a poor cash builder."

Steffan tweeted: "Tbh I think Mark's right it was only 2k difference to increase her chances of getting back and in the final chase. She's made a mistake."

And unfortunately for Miranda, it appeared The Beast was right as she was soon knocked out of the head-to-head.

*Tonight's episode was a repeat.
