Celtic star Daizen Maeda has been named as a "cast-iron certainty" to leave the club this summer.
The Hoops had interest in their Japanese buzzbomb last season with Wolfsburg close to securing a deal for the 28-year-old wide player. Maeda even saw a switch to the Bundesliga fall apart after Celts failed to line up a replacement in time.
Maeda looked a shadow of his former self for large parts of last term before he burst into life and helped the club secure the league and cup Double under Martin O'Neill with a brilliant scoring run late on.
Former Hearts and Motherwell midfielder Andy Halliday believes Maeda is a definite exit this window for Celts who have their player at the World Cup right now.
And with the tournament on, Halliday feels business could take a little bit longer to get done with players on international duty and unavailable for immediate transfer discussions.
"It will be slow at the minute but that goes both ways," Halliday told the Scottish Football podcast. "Yang's at the World Cup, Nico Raskin came on for Belgium and made a really positive introduction so that goes both ways.
"In both teams' cases if they're losing players they will have to replace them. There's been a lot of chatter from outgoings from Celtic, Arne Engels I think there will be a lot of interest in him given there was in January. Maeda you feel is a cast-iron certainty he's not going to be a Celtic player next season.
"Then Reo Hatate is probably in a similar vein. I think there will be plenty of business done in the next few weeks."
