If you’ve spent the past 12 weeks watching The Block and thinking there’s major tension between Han and Can, you might wanna pump the brakes because according to insiders, what we’re seeing isn’t real at all.
Turns out, the pair’s “awkward energy” wasn’t the result of frosty vibes. It was the result of producer-driven staging. Yep, their body language was basically directed.
“They were literally told where to sit, how far apart to be, and how to look for each piece-to-camera,” a friend told PEDESTRIAN.TV. “None of that was natural. They were affectionate off-camera, that just didn’t make the cut.”
Sources close to production say Han and Can’s master interviews often dragged on for hours, with producers repositioning them multiple times to get the “right” shot or mood.

“Those interviews are brutal,” one insider explained. “They’d get asked to repeat certain lines or hold a pose. Meanwhile, other couples were encouraged to be all over each other. It made Han and Can look distant by comparison, which was the point.”
Apparently, the couple were blindsided when the edit aired and fans started reading into every sideways glance or crossed arm.
“They actually had a great time filming,” said another source. “But watching people online dissect their body language has been devastating. It’s not who they are.”
And because reality TV can’t just stop at one drama, Han’s dad is reportedly furious about how his daughter’s storyline has been handled.
“He’s ready to speak his mind,” an insider revealed. “He feels the edit’s been unfair and he’s already planning to confront producers at the after-party drinks.”
One thing’s clear, don’t believe everything you see on the couch-cam. Sometimes that “awkward silence” is just the sound of someone waiting for the lighting guy to say cut.
