Days after calling out their fellow The Block competitors, Western Australian duo Britt and Taz have slammed online trolls who’ve been brutally dragging Sonny and Alicia.
ICYMI, The Block has been on fire when it comes to reality TV goss. From cheating scandals, MAFS-style dinner parties, to scathing call-outs, the beloved home renovation show has gone down the drama route.
Unfortunately, like many reality TV shows, some of this year’s cast have become targets of some online trolls.
On behalf of Queensland couple Sonny and Alicia, Britt and Taz have come forward to slam the online trolls, despite their differences on the show.
“We absolutely do not condone any comments from trolls and stuff like that,” Taz told Yahoo! Lifestyle.
“We deal with mental health on a daily basis with our work, and cyberbullying and trolling is one of the very, very big excesses on mental health.
“It just absolutely takes a toll and deteriorates people, so we do not condone any of that. So we do feel for Han and Can, and we do feel for Sonny and Alicia, who are copping the brunt of it.”

Speaking to the publication last week, Alicia admitted that it’s been “tough” dealing with the online messages they’ve received after appearing on The Block.
She also told the publication that she believed that Britt and Taz have a “nice edit” and that Emma and Ben are “just the happy couple that can do no wrong”. As a result, “the hate’s got to go somewhere”.
“I think because I’m a stronger personality who’s not afraid to voice how I feel, rather than shutting it down and just pretending and talking about things behind people’s backs or just not saying it at all, I feel like the trolls feel like that that’s okay, that they can just come and say whatever they want to me and think that I’m this nasty person when I’m not. I’m not a nasty person,” Alicia shared with the publication.

To help protect the cast from trolls, The Block‘s official social media accounts shared a “social induction”, reminding viewers that the teams are real people and that if they don’t follow the guidelines, they’re “off The Block“!

With Auction Day looming, let’s hope the trolls remember that The Block is literally just a home renovation show.
As much as we LOVE to be passionate about the reality TV competitions out there, bullying over a home renovation show (or any show) is so uncalled for.
Even if Sonny and Alicia voted against extra time to win… it’s just a show.
