Everyone wants the New Year’s Eve face. The one that glows and says: “Waah! It’s New Year’s Eve! Life is brilliant and I am beautiful!” But by the end of the year, my skin is about as grey as the leftover bits of turkey leg my husband will offer to “spice up” in a curry. In these dull, in-between days when there’s nothing to do but go and buy this year’s Christmas cards at half price, it makes sense to have a go at being bright again. Nothing too mad – I’m not one for going back and forth to the sink to rinse off a thousand ointments at the best of times – but just one ritual: one product, one application, for instant radiance. Whether it’s a facial peel, mask or scrub (I like Elemental Herbology’s Facial Glow Radiance Peel £40, asos.com), everything I’ve recommended here is the real deal: you use it once (for a few minutes), and you see a difference.
