The best pubs in the UK have been revealed by the Good Pub Guide 2020 - and the number one spot is just an hour from Manchester.
The Inn at Whitewell in Lancashire beat stiff nationwide competition to be crowned the Pub of the Year 2020.
Praised for its 'smartly pubby atmosphere', extensive wine list of 230 bottles, and excellent food, the pub was also nominated for Wine Pub of the Year and Inn of the Year.
The guide said: "Early evening sees a cheerful bustle that later settles to a more tranquil and relaxing atmosphere.
"The inn is set high on the banks of the River Hodder with spectacular views down the valley into the heart of the Forest of Bowland; the riverside bar and adjacent terrace make the most of this outlook."

Earning praise for Manchester itself is Castlefield's The Wharf, which made it into the top 10 for Town Pub of the Year.
Thanks to its waterside location, The Wharf has long been a popular drinking spot for residents of Greater Manchester, and the guide commended its interesting decor as well as the frequently changing guest ales.
The Church Inn in Uppermill - a Saddleworth pub that describes itself as nestled in the 'debatable land between Yorkshire and Lancashire' - earned a top 10 place under the Own Brew Pub of the Year category.
The guide said: "You'll always find a cheerful crowd of happy customers here - despite its remote setting - all keen to try the wonderful own-brewed ales and incredible value food."

Cheshire's pubs got several pats on the back too, from the Bhurtpore in Aston (in the top 10 for both Beer Pub of the Year and Whisky Pub of the Year) to the Old Harkers Arms in Chester.
One of the best unspoilt pubs in the country has gone to the White Lion in Barthomley, close to the Cheshire border with Staffordshire, while the Pheasant in Burwardsley, near Chester, earned a top spot for Country Pub of the Year.
The Swan in Marbury, close to the Cheshire/Shropshire border, was crowned the best New Pub of the Year, while the Cholmondeley Arms, Malpas, won Gin Pub of the Year.
The Good Pub Guide covers a range of categories, awarding the nation's public houses for consistent excellence.
