Who says King Charles and his family can’t get in on the Marvel action? Well nobody actually, as it turns out the royal family have struck up a multi-million pound deal with Marvel Studios which would see the studio make use of Windsor Great Park in an upcoming MCU project.
According to an article from The Sun, Marvel is expected to pay a hefty sum to the U.K. monarchy in order to shoot scenes for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday this Summer. Although the exact amount hasn’t been publicized the pay check for King Charles and his family will reportedly be worth millions.

One source claimed that “Several million pounds is chicken feed to Marvel when their movies make billions.”
What we know about the shooting location for the upcoming movie
Filming for the project is already underway and scenes from the movie are expected to be filmed next to Windsor Castle which is located in Windsor Great Park, a scenic landscape of lush forests and fields that are open for the public to visit for free!
The Sun reports that around 300 crewmembers will be present at the location to film the scenes for the upcoming film. Despite one of the biggest movies of all time being filmed on one of his properties, Charles doesn’t seem interested in the MCU as he will reportedly be on his Balmoral estate which is up north in Scotland, I’m sure most of us would kill to get the chance at seeing behind the scenes on Marvel’s biggest movie since Endgame.
Perhaps some of the royal family will head to the Windsor estate to have a look. It’s hard to imagine there are no Marvel fans in the family, maybe Prince George or Princess Charlotte. Like the rest of us the Royal Family love a bit of escapism in the form of film. Charles is patron of the British Film Institute and Prince William is the BAFTA president. Maybe we’ll even get a little royal cameo.
As for how Windsor Castle will play into the plot of the upcoming film, it’s not entirely clear. With it being a Marvel project that means everything will be kept under tight wraps until the time is right. For now we can only speculate. However, files do show that one set is reportedly listed as Luke Cage’s house, while the other is the house of a new character called Annie Reynolds.
What will Charles use the money for?
While the millions that Marvel is going to cough up for the expensive shoot may sound like a lot, it’s really not when you consider the last Avengers movie made $2 billion. But such a paycheck would be pretty valuable to the royal family as it’s expected “the money will go to the upkeep of Windsor Great Park.”
Some of the profits made by the crown estates also go to the Royal Family so it seems this venture could actually be very profitable indeed for the monarchy.
