The alternative Premier League table with Arsenal, Tottenham and Man United in the top four

The Premier League season is over and Manchester City were crowned champions, finishing one point above Liverpool after one of the closest title races in recent years.

But while City and Liverpool were both streets ahead of the rest of the league in terms of the number of points they amassed over the course of the season, an alternative league table has been released where they don't even make the top four.

That is in terms of the highest average attendance figures for the 2018-2019 season, which have Manchester United top of the pile, with the Theatre of Dreams still attracting massive crowds amid a turbulent period for the team on the field.

United had a season to forget on the pitch, with no trophies and a sixth placed finish, meaning they will be playing in the Europa League next season.

But that didn't stop fans turning up in their droves, according to figures from www.worldfootball.net

United had an average attendance of 74,498 at home matches - higher than any other team in the Premier League.

Second to them was Arsenal, with the Emirates Stadium holding 59,899 on average last season, with West Ham (58,336) and Tottenham (54,216) making up the top four.

The top 10 was dominated by clubs from London and the north west, with only Newcastle in seventh and Leicester in tenth not from the capital, Manchester and Merseyside.

Bournemouth, unsurprisingly, were bottom of the table with an average attendance of 10,532 at the Vitality Stadium, which has a capacity of 11,464.
