Security guard Pascal Duvier has broken his silence on the Chappell Roan hotel dispute involving Jude Law's 11-year-old daughter, Ada Law. Duvier allegedly confronted Ada and her mother, Catherine Harding, during breakfast in a hotel in Brazil.

The incident, which reportedly left the young girl in tears, occurred after the guard approached the family to ensure the security of the area where Roan was dining. The security veteran initially stood accused of berating the girl and her mother for 'harassing' Roan.

Pascal Duvier Breaks His Silence

In a statement released on Wednesday, 25 March, Duvier addressed the viral fallout from the encounter at the luxury São Paulo hotel. The controversy began on 21 March when Ada Law's stepfather, football star Jorginho Frello, claimed a 'large security guard' spoke in an 'extremely aggressive manner' to his wife and stepdaughter. Jorginho alleged that Ada had merely smiled at Roan before being reprimanded to the point of tears.

Harding later confirmed that the 11-year-old was 'extremely shaken' by the scolding, leading the family to cancel their plans to attend Roan's performance at Lollapalooza Brasil later that weekend.

However, the security guard said that the 'accusations are false' and that he 'takes full responsibility for the interaction'. Writing on Instagram, Duvier insisted that the claims of inappropriate aggression constitute defamation. 'I do not normally address online rumours, but the accusations currently circulating are false,' he wrote. 'I take full responsibility for the interactions on March 21st.'

Duvier also confirmed he was at the hotel on behalf of 'another individual' and was not part of the singer's team. 'The actions I took were not on behalf of Chappell Roan, her personal security team, her management, or any other individuals,' he explained.

He further justified his intervention as a 'judgement call' based on information obtained from the hotel and a heightened overall security risk at the location. Duvier maintained that his sole interaction with Harding was 'calm and with good intentions', though he noted that the regretful outcome was not his intent.

Roan's Position

According to a report by TMZ, Duvier's statement backs up previous claims made by Roan, who had already apologised for the distress caused despite having no knowledge of the event. Roan previously told fans on Instagram Stories that she never saw a woman or child and did not instruct anyone to approach them.

The singer's spokesperson later reiterated that the artist has a 'zero tolerance' policy regarding aggressive behaviour towards fans.

The incident had previously led to significant backlash against Roan, with some local officials in Brazil even suggesting a ban on her future performances before the facts were clarified.

Spotlight on Duvier's Previous Employment

The controversy has reignited interest in Duvier's professional record, specifically his time as head of security for Kim Kardashian. In 2016, he was leading her security detail when Kardashian was held at gunpoint in her luxury hotel suite in Paris. A gang of thieves escaped with a jewellery haul valued at approximately £7.8 million ($10 million). The stolen items included her renowned 18.88-carat diamond engagement ring, worth an estimated £3.5 million ($4.5 million).

At the time of the break-in, Duvier was not present at the hotel, as he was providing protection for Kardashian's sisters at a nearby nightclub.

Neither Roan nor Ada Law's family has commented on Duvier's statement.
