The 14 most brilliant writers strike 2023 signs, including a perfect Mandy Patinkin ‘Princess Bride’ sign

The Writers Guild of America strike continues this week, with the union that represents much of the names behind TV and film trying to get the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers to give them a better contract after negotiations failed.

As the protests continue all over Hollywood, social media has shown some of the most creative signs they’ve written — after all, these are writers we’re talking about here. Of course they would come up with brilliant ways to call out their cause AND get them shared on social media.

So here’s a roundup of some of the best signs we’ve seen this week:

Writer Eric Heisserer hold his sign on the picket line on the fourth day of the strike by the Writers Guild of America in front of Netflix in Hollywood, California, on May 5, 2023. – The Hollywood writers’ strike broke out this week over pay, but the refusal of studios like Netflix and Disney to rule out artificial intelligence replacing human scribes in the future has only fueled anger and fear on the picket lines. With their rapidly advancing ability to eerily mimic human conversation, AI programs like ChatGPT have spooked many industries recently. NEW YORK, NEW YORK – MAY 10: Members of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) East hold signs as they walk in the picket-line outside of HBO and Amazon’s offices on May 10, 2023 in New York City. As the strike enters its second week, negotiations between a top guild and a trade association that represents Hollywood’s top studios failed to avert the first walkout in more than 15 years. Union members have stated that they are not being paid fairly in the streaming era and are seeking pay increases and structural changes to the business model. (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images)
