The 12 NFL records Tom Brady is about to set or extend as he turns 45 years old

Tom Brady has already climbed Mount Everest. Now, on his 45th birthday, he continues to pile up ladders atop the summit as he ascends where no NFL player ever thought possible before.

Brady briefly considered rest. He retired in March. It lasted 40 days.

Instead, he’ll continue his churn upward, even though the rest of the quarterbacks who came before him look like ants from up there. Brady will play the 2022 season at an age previously reserved for kickers and pretty much no one else. When he takes his first regular season snap, the seven-time Super Bowl champion will be only the ninth player in NFL history to appear in a game aged 45 or older. With the exception of John Nesser and Bobby Marshall, who combined for five games in the 1920s, everyone else on that list primarily served on special teams.

Even if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers crater, 2022 will be a special season. Here are all the records Brady can set or extend this fall.
