'That would be unreal business' - Nottingham Forest fans give their thoughts on Abel Hernandez links

Nottingham Forest are said to have reignited their interest in ex-Hull City striker Abel Hernandez - and City Ground fans are torn.

The 28-year-old free agent has an astonishing goal scoring record in the Championship, but would arrive on Trentside nursing plenty of past injuries.

Last season, at CSKA Moscow, the striker spent a total of 102 days in the treatment room as he tried to fight back to full fitness from reoccurring hip and knee injuries.

His final years in England were also hindered in similar vain.

After needing surgery to correct an Achilles tendon in 2017, Hernandez did not return until the following February - sidelined for nearly 200 days and missing 36 Tigers' games - and that came after repeated hip and hamstring set-backs.

But it would be that aforementioned Championship goal scoring record that could tempt Sabri Lamouchi's side to take a gamble on the once Copa America winner.

In 49 Championship outings the striker has scored 28 goals, picked up four assists, and helped Hull to promotion to the Premier League.

Any move for Hernandez would be free, with the player currently unattached following his release from CSKA, but with his wages expected to be hefty, would Nottingham Forest supporters take a gamble on the Uruguayan?

Joe Hodgkinson: No brainer on a free, scores goals when fit.

Ali Quinn: Not on the wages he is reportedly after.

Tom Faulkner: Need a new forward or two even and soon.

Shane Farren: Hell yeah. Good striker and just what we need!

Paul Merrikin: Get him in!
