Tyler Walker has bid farewell to Nottingham Forest knowing his childhood dream has been achieved.
The striker made a permanent switch to Coventry City on Friday, leaving the Reds after 15 years.
While Walker never truly established himself in the first team at the City Ground, he does leave with 45 appearances and seven goals to his name, his last coming in the final minute of February’s 2-0 win over Leeds.
It’s a memory that stands out for Walker as he says goodbye to his boyhood club, who he hopes will get back into the top flight soon.
Writing on social media, Walker said: “As a kid I always dreamed of playing in Forest’s first team and I’m proud to say that I achieved that.
“I owe a massive thank you to everyone who has helped me over the past 15 years, the players I’ve played with, the staff who’ve coached me, and to all the fans who’ve supported along the way.
“Nottingham Forest has been a huge part of my life, I’ve met people and made friends there that will last a lifetime.
“The club will always hold a special place in my heart, helping me become the person and footballer I am today.
“I have made some fantastic memories, none better than scoring against Leeds and being a part of the atmosphere that night!
“I want to wish the club every success in the future and I hope it gets back to where it belongs.”
It may only be a few months until Walker returns to the City Ground; Forest host Coventry in the Championship on November 4.
