‘That audible voice was God’: Dallas woman goes to Dollar General. Then a voice warns her about a fellow customer

A Texas woman shared a perilous situation when she visited her local Dollar General. That’s because while shopping for a gift for her partner, she noticed a woman and two men acting strangely.

Later, she realized she was being followed.

“ Listen to your gut. Listen to the Lord, have discernment and get the [expletive] out,” said Irving native @yourneighborhooddilfffff in a TikTok video with over 568,000 views.

A quick trip for a DIY basket turns sour

@yourneighborhooddilfffff went into the Dollar General to make a gift basket for her boyfriend. While they were looking for figurines in the children’s aisle, a woman approached and got unusually close to her.

She heard a voice that said, “You need to leave this aisle,” somewhere in the store. Baffled, she obliged, moving to the Christmas aisle. Then, the woman followed her to that aisle. “ I see her walk past me a few times, so I’m like, all right, there’s something off about this,”  @yourneighborhooddilfffff said.

@yourneighborhooddilfffff noticed as she peeked through the aisles and tried to avoid the woman that her follower’s phone kept going off. “ Her phone is just going off and off and off, and she’s just texting, so I’m like, OK, weird. Again, maybe I’m thinking too much.”

It gets worse when two men appear

The TikToker thought something was off, but she wasn’t quite sure what yet. That’s when she noticed two men in the store. She immediately picked up that they were with the woman who seemed to canvas every aisle she moved to. She also noticed that the group seemed to pass by her no matter which aisle she went to.

“Then my heart starts racing and it’s like, God literally told me, ‘leave, get out. Leave.’ OK. Call me dramatic. Call me crazy, whatever,” she said. She quickly moved to the front of the store, hiding in one of the aisles toward the exit.

Lo and behold, all of the men who were following her left the store empty-handed. But, not before one of the men found her and made direct eye contact with her one more time.

Frightened, she looked around the store to make sure everyone who followed her had left. Afterward, she left, checking to ensure no one saw her route to her home.

“ Women’s intuition is never wrong. I knew from the moment that the lady came on the aisle, but I was trying to reason with myself,”  @yourneighborhooddilfffff said. “Why would I think that she’s just looking at toys? No, when you know, you know—listen to your heart.

Similar experiences in Irving, Texas

It turns out, many women have had some frightening encounters in Irving, Texas. The city, which sits right outside of Dallas, has many areas that crime raters and public safety campaigns consider unsafe, with the city getting a D rating for violent crime according to crimegrade.org. Violent crime is higher than the average, with Irving being less safe than 81% of U.S. cities.

“I had a similar experience at the Walmart in Irving TX by Highway 183,” said one commenter. “The man was wearing a suit. I left my husband’s side and took my [one] year old to the toy section. The man entered the toy aisle and I didn’t think much of it, it wasn’t until the [third aisle] that I realized he was following us. I freaked out and found a busy [aisle] and called my husband. Once I knew where he was, I rushed over there. Not even [five minutes] later the man was in the same [aisle] we were [in]!”

“Someone just posted the other day of a girl in Irving being followed by several men and she started recording and took off her pad to ward them off. Irving sounds spooky!!” said one woman.

@yourneighborhooddilfffff was unavailable to comment for our reporting. The Mary Sue reached out to Dollar General regarding its Irving, Texas, location.
