A woman says she found her married college professor’s Tinder account.
She says she decided to use the situation to her advantage by writing her final paper for his philosophy class about the subject of cheating on one’s partner.
At the end of the spring semester, Reese (@reesecheaterbuster) posted a TikTok about finding out her 24-year-old professor is on Tinder.
“My MARRIED philosophy professor gave us the option to write our final paper on any topic we wanted so I decided to write mine about the moral implications of cheating,” a text overlay on the posts says. “And included his Tinder profile at the end :)”
She captions the post, “That A is so mine.”
Her post has people fascinated and conflicted. Some don’t believe it’s real.
One said of her viral post about the professor, “Top 10 things that never happened.”
‘A’ for effort
Many commenters urged Reese to be cautious. A common refrain was that his wife may be fine with the professor using the dating app.
“Plot twist, they have an open relationship,” one wrote.
Others suggested that she should carefully adhere to all the requirements for the final paper in case the professor looks for a reason to give her a bad grade.
One said her move could backfire. They wrote, “He can’t fail you if you get him divorced and fired.”
A few opined that it would be foolish for a college professor to use Tinder in the town where they teach.
In a follow-up post, Reese says he gave her the grade she wanted. Her professor, she says, didn’t mention the subject of his Tinder profile.
Reese claims she emailed his wife. One person quipped, “Women supporting women.” Reese replied, “Had to ofc.”
Reese doesn’t offer any additional information about what happened next.
The TikTok has 14.7 million views as of this writing.
Exposing ‘cheaters’ for content
Reese dedicates her TikTok account to calling out men for stepping out on their partners. Her posts appear to exclusively focus on finding the Tinder accounts of men in relationships.
Her handle includes CheaterBuster, the name of a company that bills itself as “the AI that catches cheaters.”
Reese describes herself in her bio as “exposing the streets.”
In multiple posts, she says she caught her ex-boyfriend on Tinder. In one, she says she’s found friends’ boyfriends, too. Other TikToks show she and her friends rating their exes’ Tinder profiles.
Most of Reese’s posts have several thousand views. A few have tens of thousands.
CheaterBusters’ site touts its affiliate program where they pay creators for views and for people who sign up via their affiliate link.
The constant focus on cheating has some staying engaged and others suspecting Reese is getting paid. Her account and posts don’t mention anything about the content being a paid promotion.
One commenter described her account as “engagement bait.”
“This is ChatGPT and just her being sponsored by the site btw, check her bio lol,” wrote another.
A third said, “Wow crazy how I’ve seen 3 different posts with the exact same story! What a coincidence!”
