Texans RB Devin Singletary scores Houston’s first TD vs. Jets

Running back Devin Singletary finally put the Houston Texans on the board in the third quarter against the New York Jets.

Singletary scored on a one-yard touchdown run as the third quarter ended to pull the Texans within one score of the Jets. Kicker Matt Ammendola, a former Jets player himself, missed the extra point to keep the Jets lead at eight points.

Singletary scored thanks, in part, to the play of quarterback C.J. Stroud.

The Texans rookie quarterback hit tight ends Andrew Beck and Brevin Jordan for 26 and 23 yards, respectively, to get Houston in the red zone. The Jets committed a seven-yard pass interference call in the endzone to push the Texans to the one-yard line where Singletary was able to punch it in.
