After beating Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City, Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is closing in on the Chiefs’ quarterback in the 2019 NFL MVP odds.
Odds-makers at BetMGM have Mahomes and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson tied for first at +220. Watson has the third-best odds at +550. Here are the full odds:

Watson has led the Texans to a 4-2 record after starting the season 2-2. In the last two weeks, he has earned back-to-back victories over the Falcons and Chiefs, respectively. In that span, he has tallied eight total touchdowns, two interceptions, 795 total yards on a 77.3% completion rate.
Watson is the only player to receive two Offense/Defensive Player of the Week awards in 2019.
Houston sits atop the AFC South at 4-2. If Watson can put together another MVP-caliber performance against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, the Texans can begin thinking seriously about having a bye in the AFC playoffs. If so, MVP may not be the only award Watson receives in 2019.
