Texans QB Deshaun Watson isn’t celebrating Jalen Ramsey’s trade to Rams

Deshaun Watson’s buddy, Jalen Ramsey, is now out of the Houston Texans’ AFC South. Now a member of the Los Angeles Rams, the All-Pro cornerback got his wish of getting out of the Jacksonville Jaguars organization.

Watson is happy to hear Ramsey is in Los Angeles, but not because he wants to avoid the competition. If he could, Watson would play Ramsey 16 times a year.

When asked on Wednesday if he is glad Ramsey is out of the division, Watson said: “I mean, I would love to play against him. He knows that. We love to compete. We’ve been competing against each other since I got in college.”

Watson has faced Ramsey four times, and three times as a starter. He did not lose one of those games as a starter. When the two played in the 2018 Pro-Bowl, they connected on a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. They even share the same agent, David Mulugheta, and were seen hanging out nine days ago.

“From what I’ve heard from him, he’s happy, in a good position,” said Watson.

Watson won’t get the opportunity to face Ramsey anytime soon — unless the Rams and Texans meet in the Super Bowl. While he may not admit that’s a good thing, those in Houston are taking a breath of relief knowing their beloved Texans won’t have to face an elite force in Ramsey twice a year.
