Texans G/T Tytus Howard among inactives versus Saints

The Houston Texans have announced their inactive players for Monday night’s season opener against the New Orleans Saints.

Rookie offensive lineman Tytus Howard, expected to start at left guard, is listed as inactive thanks to a finger injury. This means veteran Senio Kelemente will start in his absence alongside the newly signed left tackle Laremy Tunsil.

On the plus side, this does mean that center Nick Martin will be playing in between two guards who both started last season, meaning they should have the communication side of things nailed down, something Tunsil may struggle with early on.

Also missing is slot receiver Keke Coutee, who suffered a knee injury during training camp. In his place expect DeAndre Carter and Kenny Stills to take his place.

Five other’s are listed as inactive as the Texans head for the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Ol Greg Mancz, DL Charles Omenihu, CB Xavier Crawford, CB Cornell Armstrong, and newly acquired TE Logan Paulsen.
