Tesco Wishaw staff urging customers to donate groceries for latest initiative

Tesco in Wishaw is urging customers to lend a helping hand to feed those less fortunate than themselves by donating groceries to their latest drive.

Their #everycanhelps initiative will be running from Thursday to Saturday this week.

Customers in the store are being asked to donate cans of food and packets of dried food over the coming days which will go to the charity Fareshare.

Laura Horswell, community champion for the store in Belhaven Road, said: “Our food donation campaigns are always successful thanks to our kind customers.

“On this occasion we are looking for long-life products such as dried pastas, cans of beans, cans of meat and tuna.

“This is part of a bigger national drive across all the Tesco stores. Whatever is donated Tesco will donate another 20 per cent on top.”
