Tesco store unrecognisable as supermarket undergoes dramatic facelift in Ayrshire

One of Ayrshire's biggest supermarkets is currently undergoing a huge transformation.

Tesco Extra in Kilmarnock is in the midst of a major makeover set to last until the busy Christmas period.

The entire clothing department has been removed from its usual setting in the West Shaw Street store in the town.

Every single rail has been taken away to another part of the store.

The section where the clothing department was has been cordoned to stop customers from entering.

In addition, entire departments have changed location within the shop.

Work on the store is expected to last for around three months until November 26.

The store has a cafe upstairs along with a mobile shop and opticians

It remains unclear if any major permanent changes are being made to the supermarket's departments or not.

Work has been taking place externally in and around the car park too.

Tesco has been contacted for comment.
